May the Force be With You!

It's the start of the holiday season and we had a busy October!  First, the Pumpkin Patch at Aloun Farms.

The end product of those pumpkins.  Mickey, left, and Groot, right, from "Guardians of the Galaxy"

Ryan worked REALLY hard for Halloween.  Yes, he carved the pumpkins and planned the kids' costumes...Kolby is crazy for Star Wars and his favorite vehicle is the snowspeeder, so Ryan decided to recreate one with our wagon...sweet ride!   Neither of them really wanted to ride it, but many people commented that we had the best costumes ever... hmm...wonder if that will change Ryan's mind about never making another costume again.

We were invited to a costume party with PBS & Curious George where we were able to show off those fun orange jumpsuits while making a spider cookie, decorate masks, take pictures as and with Curious George.

Until next post...stay curious!

Kaysen's teeth...

Kaysen is now 8 and a half months and his teeth are slowly coming in... His first tooth started to break the gum at the end of 4 months and now he has three!  The third one is not in the usual place though... I thought that the top front teeth should be next to bust through the gum; however, it is a tooth on the side of the front teeth that has decided to show up.
Kaysen has been a very fussy, especially at night.  So long are the nights of good, long sleeps for us! Poor Kaysen... Teeth, hurry and come in so Kaysen isn't so miserable...

Happy 4th Birthday, Kolby!

Kolby is a happy-go-lucky 4-year old whose current love is Star Wars.  He is very much into the movies and even the LEGO & Angry Birds versions.  His favorite character varies all the time, but we noticed that he gravitates towards characters with supporting roles...clone troopers, Boba Fett, Jango... Other examples: Sesame Street = Bert, Thomas the Train = Percy.  We are just so lucky that he is easy to please...no favorite color or food - just make it Star Wars and he is extra happy!

He is a very active 29.5 lb boy who has been asking about taking swim lessons since November.  We finally signed him up for class and he thinks he can swim already.  Too funny.
Kolby was lucky enough to celebrate his 4th birthday twice - at Chuck E Cheese's and at Aulani.
His favorite ride at CEC.
Do you see a hidden Mickey on the bed?

A really cool water ring (bubble?) made for Kolby as we watched the fish at the Rainbow Reef. [Not the Mickey Mouse ones - that would be even cooler!]
Mmm!  Mickey and Stitch waffles!

We were fortunate enough to meet all the characters and have Grandma & Grandpa HokuMele join us on this fun-filled weekend. Kaysen was very interested in all the characters (as you can tell....), but at least he didn't cry!
Kolby's special dessert - a banana milkshake and a Mickey Mouse mousse sandwich along with his complimentary birthday cake.
Kolby really enjoyed use of the Menehune Bridge where it's exclusive to keiki 48" and under.
Kolby swam and swam and swam... He loved to go down the lazy river as he doggy-paddled alongside my tube.  He even loved to go down the big slide with the inner tube.  You could hear Kolby scream and yell, "Where are we going?" and "See ya later, babes."
Unfortunately, the rainy & windy weather cut into our swimming time, but Kolby enjoyed a couple of mugs of hot cocoa.
We also played for a little while at Aunty's Beach House.  Even Kaysen got to participate in a Diaper Derby and won an Aulani bib.

It was an exhausting weekend, but so much fun!  Kolby said, "When Kaysen gets bigger, we have to go back to Aulani."  Can't wait!
